Latera
Short of breath? Increasingly worried about your respiratory system hygiene? You are likely suffering from obstruction of your nasal passages. Nasal obstruction is the blockage of the nasal cavity that affects airflow. Multiple factors are known to cause it including, septal deviation, turbinate enlargement, and nasal valve collapse.
What is LATERA?
LATERA is a nose implant that may reduce airway obstruction symptoms in patients by supporting the cartilage inside the nasal wall, preventing nasal valve collapse.
Does LATERA Work?
Within two years after the procedure, patients report a significant reduction in their symptoms.
A 2017 clinical study[1] showed that LATERA patients experienced:
- Reduced congestion or stuffiness
- Reduced trouble breathing
- Improved ability to get air through the nose during exercise or exertion
- Reduced nasal blockage or obstruction
- Less trouble sleeping
Are There Risks?
Patients may experience temporary symptoms such as mild bruising, inflammation, awareness of the implant, mild pain, and infection. These risks are short-term.
