Sleep Studies at ENTACC
A sleep study (Polysomnogram) is a diagnostic tool used to identify certain sleep disorders. These studies have traditionally been performed in a hospital or sleep laboratory setting, and involved an overnight stay that many patients found undesirable. Now there is a new, low-cost, patient friendly, FDA-approved device that can be worn while you sleep in your own bed at home. This convenient wireless recording device is worn on the forehead, and acquires and stores up to 3 nights of data including pulse rate, oxygen saturation, airflow, snoring levels, and head movement. This home test provides a better profile of breathing in the normal sleep environment. In conjunction with your symptoms and our physician’s evaluation, this data is interpreted for diagnosing and treating sleep disorders.
